Purposes

The Advocacy Committee of the European Hong Kong Diaspora Alliance (EHKDA) is dedicated to supporting Hongkongers’ pursuit of freedom, democracy, and human rights. We are committed to raising awareness and mobilizing support in EU and EFTA countries to address critical issues facing Hongkongers in Hong Kong and in the diaspora.

 

The Advocacy Committee serves as a key vehicle to advance the Alliance’s Mission through advocacy efforts with regional, national, European Union, and/or other international stakeholders.

Strategic Advocacy Planning

Developing and implementing advocacy strategies that align with the Alliance’s overall goals.

Monitoring relevant policy developments and drafting position papers, policy briefs, and statements on behalf of the Alliance.

Policy Analysis and Positioning

Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, government agencies, civil society organisations, and the media.

Stakeholder Engagement

Capacity Building

Exploring potential resources to support the Alliance’s members in enhancing their individual and collective advocacy capabilities.

Communication and Coordination

Ensuring effective communication and coordination among the Alliance’s members and Hong Kong-related groups regarding advocacy initiatives.
